Progress is not perfection
We have had creative control of the Brookport property located at 701 Ohio Street since early February. With a multipurpose vision of hope and help for a community and nothing else we set off on a journey. on April 11th we filed all of our formal paperwork On May 1st we had our founder’s day meeting. in June we attended our first City Council meeting in Brookport and formally introduced ourselves to the community, in response we got the formal greenlight to open Addy’s Closet and our Home Base Resource Center immediately, and so we did. In the beginning we were underprepared for the need of our customers. So we closed up for two weeks gathered more clothes and built some partnerships along with some new clothing racks, and then reopened. Then classes started resulting in all of our available staff and volunteers being unavailable all at once. So we hired some volunteers. and now we press on with daily improvements to facilities and grounds while building out projects and programs to serve the community that has helped build us.
